GIDRM supports Georgian Universities and NEA with Field Laboratory Equipment

On October 31st, 2022, Transfer Ceremony of Field Geological Equipment was held in the scope of GIDRM’s commitment to support capacity enhancement in the geological departments of the Tbilisi State University (TSU), Georgian Technical University (GTU), Ilia State University along with the National Environmental Agency (NEA).

During the ceremony all partners had a chance to present their activities and action programs. NEA gave insights into their extensive work across Georgia. The attending universities, TSU, GTU and Ilia State, also presented their current and upcoming plans regarding their academic year 2022-2023, while expressing interest in future joint sessions and workshops.

Besides more international exchange, field trips and practical capacities for data management, essential tools required for field works has been identified as a central necessity by our partner stakeholders. If possible, upcoming joint efforts from the partners will be directed in this direction. In addition to the transferred package of 13 equipment pieces, our Georgian partners will also be offered further support in 2023.
