Training Course on Urban Development and Climate Change conducted together with the GIZ Training Services in Bangkok

With the support of the GIDRM, the GIZ Training Services in Bangkok successfully conducted a training on "Managing Urban Development and Climate Change: Strategies and Collaborative Action for Resilient Cities" from 17-20 November. The training mainly focused on the challenges Asian cities are facing in the light of climate change and increasing risk towards natural hazards. 17 participants from more than five countries came together to share their experiences, jointly reflect on their everyday challenges and totranslate their findings into suitable actions for their respective working contexts. In line with the “Harvard Case Method”, the participants were provided valuable input by expertsamongst others from ICLEI that was delivered through case study analysis and role-play exercises.

“Managing urban planning in climate change environment is complex, so does the course that was perfectly delivered within a dynamic and interactive ways. Hence, it enables the participants to have more deeply thought of technical measure for integrating climate change in urban planning through various practical discussions among the course participants and trainers. It was an enriching course.”
